Better Read Than Dead’s impressive contemporary space, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and sky-lit mezzanine level create an inviting respite from the busy street and we welcome browsers, advice-seekers and anyone who values a good old-fashioned book chat.  We pride ourselves on the quality and specialised knowledge of our booksellers. Readings

Readings is an independent retailer of books and music, with nine shops operating in Melbourne. The flagship Readings Carlton shop was established in 1969 and has since been joined by stores in Hawthorn, Malvern, St Kilda, Doncaster, Emporium Melbourne, as well as a boutique shop at the State Library of Victoria, and – most recently – a shop in The Market Hall Pavilion at Chadstone shopping centre. We also have a children’s specialist shop located in Carlton, Readings Kids.
